ABOUT

WAIV Magazine was created by the co-founders of  Labyrinth Digital LLC , Raji Mohanam Kotian & Valerie Gueye,  to establish a digital platform that elevates the voices of historically marginalized communities in the AI and tech space.

Our mission is to increase diversity in AI for a smarter, more inclusive future. We aim to spotlight, celebrate, and build a community of groundbreaking entrepreneurs, researchers, and leaders from historically marginalized individuals including women, LGBTQIA+, Indigenous peoples and others who are reshaping the landscape of artificial intelligence. In a field historically dominated by a narrow demographic, WAIV stands as a beacon, illuminating the paths of trailblazers and inspiring countless others to join the vanguard of this technological revolution.

What sets WAIV apart is our holistic approach to exploring AI through the lens of diverse experiences, challenges, and triumphs. Unlike traditional tech publications, we were created by and for underrepresented groups, prioritizing marginalized perspectives in all our work. We delve into all facets of how AI intersects with and impacts the lives of women, LGBTQIA+ individuals, Indigenous peoples, and other underrepresented groups - from the boardrooms where diverse founders are raising capital for innovative startups, to the labs where scientists from various backgrounds are pushing the boundaries of machine learning, to the communities where AI applications are transforming healthcare, education, and opportunity for all. Simultaneously, we examine how these diverse voices are uniquely influencing and advancing AI itself, bringing fresh perspectives, ethical considerations, and inclusive design principles that make these powerful technologies work better for everyone, because the future of intelligence is diverse, inclusive, and equitable.

Let's make waves together!

WAIV Magazine was established as a platform to explore the work and ideas of women and other underrepresented groups who are redefining Artificial Intelligence. WAIV supports an industry-wide paradigm shift in AI development that puts ethics and gender equity at the center, ensuring these technologies serve all of humanity. Through free articles and our “Deep Dives” podcast episodes, we cover issues from data bias to ethical policies aimed at building a global community dedicated to equitable AI.
